Seminar Reflections

"What a creative way to look at selling! I liked this approach better than selling sessions from my manufacturer," exclaimed one of many Project Innovations' clients and guests who gathered for the company's first free seminar on May 6, 2004 in Farmington, Michigan. The historic LONGACRE HOUSE nestled in a blooming park proved to be an ideal setting for a fruitful discussion of personal and organizational growth and innovations in rainmaking.

During the morning session, Teresa Weed Newman took her audience on a guided tour of the Individual and Organizational Path of Discovery™ (IOPD). She unfolded the map depicting how people and organizations grow and change and explained ways in which this change can be helped or hindered by four personality types present in each individual. As the participants discovered theirs and their colleague's personality types, they immediately saw the source of conflict in their organizations and began conceiving solutions based on the IOPD model.

While the IOPD presentation focused on organizational change, the afternoon session led by Charlie Fleetham aimed at inspiring and energizing rainmakers, or seller-doers who must sell their services, products, or ideas. The Chief Rainmaker and president of the company, Charlie presented his groundbreaking method of creating the rainmaking attitude - Unrational Leadership™.

Unrational Leadership™ employs both rational and irrational methods for achieving personal and professional success. Following Charlie's lead, each participant drew his or her personal "heroic journey of rainmaking", confronted fears by talking to their reflections in the mirror,
and created rituals to influence the business development gods. The participants reported feeling invigorated and more confident about their own rainmaking potential.

Many thanks to our friends and guests who participated in the day! Your positive feedback has convinced us to create another day of exploration into Unrational Leadership™.
