"CreateDetroit
partnered with Charlie and his team at Project Innovations
to assist us in our strategic planning process. Through
his method of defining our own "heroic journey" to achieve
our goals Charlie was able to bring out the best in
us by tapping into the last place one would think to
look: our unconscious. While most organizational trainers
teach conventional methods that get conventional results,
Project Innovations method gets extraordinary results
by using extraordinary means. As Executive Director
of CreateDetroit I can't thank Charlie and his team
enough for their remarkable efforts and the wonderful
results achieved."

"When
it comes to angry people, Charlie Fleetham is a genius.
When people are angry or displeased, Charlie's
core strength is listening. When people are speaking
in anger Charlie internalizes, digests, and then reflects
back to the speaker those issues for resolution.
This is by no means easy and Charlie handles it with
grace.
I
speak from experience. I witnessed as Charlie
interacted with suburban customers on Detroit water
rates and saw him, over time, turn anger and resentments
into visions and possibilities. In 2003, he took
steps in leading metropolitan communities towards better
relationships with each other. What started as
an outreach component for a 50 Year Water Master Plan
is growing into a regional resource for water professionals." |
| |
|
"Charlie's approach to developing a team from disparate
players is unique as well as very successful. The technique
he uses varies with the challenge the players present." |
|
|
"Mr. Fleetham's understanding of workplace dynamics
helped resolve many organizational and communication problems
at our plant. His unique insights and techniques helped
expand leadership skills and behavior. Overall, his contributions
have helped improve performance in our organization." |
|
|
"I was a member of a working group which was formed
between city representatives and its customers to reach
a consensus on some very sensitive and potentially volatile
issues. We started as a very diverse group with very different
objectives, but Charlie's unique techniques steered us
successfully through the morass and the group was able
to achieve its goals. His use of the mandala exercise
was particularly interesting and fun. To see a group of
well-established business people sitting around coloring
with crayons was quite a sight. But ultimately, the way
in which it relaxed everyone and got the group engaged
with and trusting one another was amazing to witness.
I would highly recommend the use of Charlie's techniques
to anyone seeking a successful resolution to group issues." |

"The world is full of irrational leaders and managers,
and at times, it seems that you have to deal with all
of them. Charlie's unrational leadership philosophy on
how to manage the process has allowed me to work effectively
with irrational people without feeling the need to find
another line of business." |
|
"After Charlie's two-day workshop the team has a
vision and clear direction for the future. We recognize
now when we're getting into the middle and have the tools
to manage through it. We are facilitating many more conversations
and taking on fewer problems as our own.
Short story - I had a conflict come up the other day so
I scheduled a meeting between the two groups. Time got
away from me and I didn't have a chance before the meeting
to ask what people wanted to get out of it, so instead
I did that during the first 15 minutes of the meeting.
Everyone went around the table and said what they wanted
to get out of the meeting. An IT person stopped me a couple
days later and said that was one of the first time she
hadn't felt attacked and she felt that people understood
her challenges. Yeah - two points for Charlie, two points
for the Liaisons. - Thanks for the tools to handle the
situation!" |
|
|
"Charlie, I thank you for your coaching sessions
that made me understand how to realize, recognize and
understand my inferior function and how it plays out in
my everyday life. The most important thing I learned from
you is analyzing & interpreting the dreams and oh,
boy how powerful and useful that turned out be! I am grateful
for the tools that you showed me to realize my strengths
(talents) and my focus is now shifted to strengthen my
strengths and work around my weaknesses." |
|
|
"Charlie truly helped our organization to align our
hearts and brains with our souls. I have grown exponentially
since we began our work with Project Innovations. Having
a clearer understanding of myself and the business in
which we strive in has made the world of difference in
strategizing for the future. If we are to truly integrate
the concepts we are tackling there should be someone that
can help us to educate our client or vendor on the irrational,
leadership development and self-discovery. That, I feel
would make a bond that could not easily be broken. I understand
that it takes an open mind, but a basic understanding
is vital for them to relate. As a child we played with
our shadow, now our shadows are playing with us. Looking
in to the dark never looked so bright, it has been like
a guided tour through scary woods that comes to a clearing,
but not knowing what the weather will be like when you
get there. The fear of the unknown is not as scary as
avoiding it. You have given us several tools through our
journeys over the past several years, and every one of
them has been worth its weight in gold. As irrational
as I thought I could be, it paled in comparison to my
true potential. Thank you Charlie." |
|
|
"I have worked with Charlie Fleetham and observed
his techniques and abilities in getting people with diverse
positions and opinions together. His creative use of mandalas
and other aids was very helpful in promoting substantive
discussions and agreement. Charlie has the unique ability
to convince people to put aside personal and/or emotional
views and look toward the larger picture to resolve issues
and problems." |
|
|
"Charlie's unique methods, involving mandalas, poetry
and other seemingly odd activities, helped our group develop
a special camaraderie that broke through negotiation barriers
in ways not possible had we been left to our own devices.
With deft precision, Charlie applied sometimes strange
and fantastic methods to help our group maneuver through
the many sticking points that arose throughout our difficult
negotiations. What does a mandala have to do with breakthrough
negotiations? Only a facilitator like Charlie has the
knack for successfully applying such odd tools to common
problems. With compassion and discipline, Charlie routinely
charmed us into solving problems in imaginary worlds so
that we had the basis for tackling our real issues."

"I have been involved with several different initiatives
facilitated by Charlie Fleetham. Each time, I found the
experience to be unique and much more effective than "conventional"
programs. One of the most personally satisfying programs
I attended was called "Core Energy - Value Add Approach
to Managerial Development". In the program I was
able to explore the positive and negative effects that
my managerial style was having on my department and the
larger organization. In particular, by applying the "Stages
of Life" theory to my work situation, I was able
to better understand that different strategies may be
needed in dealing with staff that are in different stages
of their life. Further, by articulating to the group that
I intended to make personal changes to my managerial style
based on the "Heroic Journey" exercises, I made
a deeper commitment to implementation of the changes.
It was very satisfying in the ensuing months to hear that
many people noticed a positive change in my managerial
style. Whenever I encounter a particularly difficult situation,
I find the "Core Energy" concepts provide better
insight and, hence, better solutions." |
|
|
"Charlie Fleetham's unrational leadership is strange
and familiar at the same time, much like Jung's collective
consciousness. Teaching us to harness our unrational energy,
Charlie has brought out creativity and courage we were
unaware we possessed. It's not been easy, but we have
changed." |
|
|
"I have had the opportunity to observe and participate
in several projects led by Charlie Fleetham, and I can
honestly say: "The process works". Charlie has
an almost magical ability to create cooperation and collaboration
out of a sea of chaos and disgruntlement. In each circumstance,
I found myself thinking that the path being prescribed
by Charlie was far too arduous and the effort often seemed
pointless. Nevertheless, Charlie has been able to consistently
generate an end product, which reflects a remarkable convergence
from diverse interests around a common objective. I subsequently
redefined the term "BC" to mean "Before
Charlie". Although he has yet to walk on water (to
my knowledge), I can certify that he is able to produce
near miraculous solutions from vexing organizational problems."

"Charlie has helped us reduce and resolve conflict
between our clients by introducing unique and innovative
facilitation techniques, such as the Mandala." |
