"When I entered the Unrational Leadership Program
through Project Innovations, I knew I would be going through
a new journey. Just the idea of keeping a dream journal
was not something I was looking forward to. I thought
that it was a kind of off the wall idea, but I kept an
open mind and gave it a try. I started to record my dreams
in a journal, but I wasn't sure what the dreams meant.
After having the dreams interpolated, and being told what
the symbols represent, I started to see that there really
might be some correlation between my dreams and the questions
I had deep down in my unconsciousness. In fact, the dreams
were actually bringing the questions from my unconscious
side to my conscious side. Now I try to interpolate all
my dreams to find out what my unconscious is trying to
tell me." |
|
|
"The Unrational Leadership program takes you to places
you have not been before, your unrational side. The program
is enjoyable, does not seem like work, nor like a transformation,
but you learn and grow from going through it. You find
yourself thinking differently, acting differently, and
responding differently as a result of opening up the unrational
side of thinking. You may not know when or how you have
changed, but the change will be evident by the end of
the program. You have to be willing to open up and look
within using an open mind, and you are rewarded if you
do." |
|
|
"Your writings and discussions have allowed me to
view business relations and myself from a different perspective.
As technical people, we must make sure that when we communicate
or relate to others such as clients and lay people, that
we do so in a manner that they can understand, appreciate
and respect. Having insight into how others perceive you
and how someone perceives themselves is important in the
communications/relationship process." |
|
|
"We were amazed that (through Mr. Fleetham's techniques)
our negotiations became discussions, our positions became
less rigid and we discovered common ground we hadn't walked
on before. Our entrenchment within our long standing/historical
issues was softened with Mr. Fleetham's approach, to a
point where we collectively wanted to move forward and
reach agreement, first in principal, then in substance."
|
|
|
"Charlie Fleetham is a master in keeping a group
with several levels of education, their own loyalties
and agendas and guiding them into a common outcome. He
is very open minded about final direction and never appears
discouraged about the outcome. His goal is to obtain the
direction of the assembled group. He is also very astute
when the group is floundering and is quick to reassign
the problem when the discussion is heading for an impasse.
He is well prepared for the current session. Some of his
icebreakers are far out. They probably serve the purpose
of settling the nerves of a diverse group of educated
individuals. I never felt that they were a waste of time
since they were always appeared to be productive."
|
|
|
"Charlie Fleetham has a great way of getting to the
essence of peoples concerns through private interviews
before a group session. He than uses this input to construct
a visual that displays these concerns, a Mandala he calls
it, in a highly thought provoking and clear way which
helps groups get sensitive issues out on the table without
negative confrontation." |
|
|
"After a national search, Spalding DeDecker Associates
selected Charlie Fleetham for facilitating its Strategic
Plan. We wanted someone who is familiar with our industry
at the same time can help us think out of a box. We are
very happy with the plan that we created with their help.
We are sending two of our up and coming leaders to the
Executive Leadership training series as an extent to our
continuous quest to be great." |
|
|
"Charles Fleetham has been a catalyst for change
at Orchard, Hiltz & McCliment. His "unrational
leadership" mixed with facilitation skills really
open people up, helping us think and explore problems/opportunities
in new, more effective ways. We have a higher energy level
in our organization and a stronger commitment to follow-through
after our involvement with Charlie. We will be sending
a member of our leadership team to the ACEC-MI Executive
Leadership Series." |
|
|
"Often during my 20 year professional career, I would
find myself every few years tripping over the same personal
"speed bumps" in my leadership and interpersonal
skills. That was before I was introduced to Charlie and
his Jungian-based approach to maximizing my leadership
skills by learning to integrate my conscience and subconscious
into one powerful approach for achieving professional
and personal success. There comes a time in every executive's
life when they realize that they have mastered the skills
and maximized the efficiency of every major aspect of
their chosen profession, however, there will also be a
nagging suspicion that there is something missing, and
that something is internal, not external. Charlie's book
helps executives understand how to fill that void and
starts them on their journey to the second half of life."
|
|
|
"Charlie has done a remarkable job in helping me
build teamwork by pointing out what unconscious forces
are at play, how to recognize those forces, and how to
turn those unconscious forces into positive energy. While
that may sound ephemeral, Charlie's methods really work."
|
|
|
"Lots of people serve as facilitators for group retreats
and planning sessions, but few do it as well as Charlie.
Charlie has a knack for realizing when a focus group is
getting "out of focus" and gently steering them
back on track. The "ice breakers" that Charlie
uses do a fabulous job of kicking off a meeting. The subtle,
often humorous, sometimes decidedly offbeat exercises
really get people started relating to one another."
|
|
|
"Charlie's teachings taught us to recognize our dark
side, our shadow that keeps us from unleashing our full
potential; Taught us how to look at concepts that can
move us from being good to great; Taught us to look at
challenges or adversity as a journey, a process that has
monsters to overcome and how to identify inner resources
leading to success; Taught us to be aware of our dreams
and to try and identify if they are speaking to our daily
challenges or situations in life." |
|
"Charlie's magic comes from using unconventional
tools and techniques that move people out of corporate
ruts. When Charlie first asks participants to share stories,
draw Mandalas, or interpret each other's dreams, you see
some initial hesitation; but it takes only a few minutes
for people to leave behind their skepticism and start
to approach their hardest-to-solve problems and most frustrating
work relationships with a new sense of openness, wonder,
and innovation.
I've seen Charlie move a struggling group of senior leaders
from a disjointed, infighting, and dispirited low point
into a productive, hopeful, unifying strategic planning
session. This occurred in just two short sessions. How?
I couldn't tell anyone how to replicate his work. He blends
innovative ideas from outside the corporate world with
all of the rock-solid basics of team building, facilitation,
and executive coaching. If you hire him, you just have
to sit back and watch him do his unique transformations."
